I have an Asian style branch with a hanging chrysalis and a half butterfly that has just emerged - on the wings I have the Chinese characters for 'invincibility' -- here is a photo, but I don't know if it will work: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=30352705&l=dbee4dbefd&id=1527850800
It is on my right back ribcage. I also have a number of ellipses in the design - it's my favorite punctuation mark :)

I love the symbolism of you being the nest and the eggs your children, Jennifer. It gives a beautiful image of safety, family, and strength!

I just had my first tattoo done 2 weeks ago :) I love that single mothers put so much time and thought into a design and symbolism that will mark this moment of growth in our lives!

Mine was inspired by the quote in Pema Chodron's book "When Things Fall Apart" --
*Only to the extent that we expose ourselves over and over to annihilation can that which is indestructible be found in us.*
and a scene from Lost (silly, I know) --
*You see this little hole? This moth's just about to emerge. It's in there right now, struggling. It's digging it's way through the thick hide of the cocoon. Now, I could help it - take my knife, gently widen the opening, and the moth would be free - but it would be too weak to survive. Struggle is nature's way of strengthening it.* (John Locke ~ Lost)

I feel like I can do anything when I see it in the mirror, and I hope your ink brings you the same peace!!

LOVE THIS! Congratulations! I have a nest with three bluebirds in it drawn by a dear friend and support person. It is on my arm, a symbol of me and my girls. Welcome to the tattooed mama's club!
